Exhibition 21_21 Design Sight Tokyo: Second Nature

The exhibition Second Nature offers an opportunity to once again ponder the future of design as well as the mysterious powers of nature which transcend the limits of human imagination. Tokujin Yoshioka, the director of the exhibition, has attempted to incorporate in his own design work the many laws that exist in nature, while at the same time exploring the possibilities of technology. His works do not merely remind people of the natural world on a visual level or imitate the more apparent manifestations of the laws of nature. Rather, by using technology as well as his own ideas as a kind of sustenance, he creates new forms of nature, in a process that results in what might best be described as a second nature. Rooted in this mindset, this exhibition presents the experimental works of eight groups of creators, including Tokujin Yoshioka himself. The exhibition also presents a cloud-like installation that envelop the exhibit space.

Wirtotechnologia fair Poland

We have the pleasure of informing you that the 1st Wirtotechnologia fair, which is dedicated to all aspects of Rapid Prototyping and IT technologies designed for industry will be held on 21-23 October 2008 in the city of Sosnowiec in 

Poland. 
 
In view of production preparation processes increasingly entering the virtual world, we decided to organize a fair event dedicated to the virtualization of technological processes, with its practical and academic aspects. Computer aided design, rapid prototyping, which reduces the time necessary for launching new products onto the market, as well as computer aided production and corporate resources management are prerequisites for the functioning of a modern company of the 21st century. 





Exhibitors of the Wirtotechnologia fair will have an opportunity to use a new exhibition facility in the south of Poland. Located in the city of Sosnowiec, the Centre Expo Silesia meets all European requirements, in addition to being easily accessible and excellently equipped. These strength of this facility will be appreciated by both exhibitors and customers. More

Opening Material Matters Eindhoven

Op donderdag 23 oktober 2008 organiseert Material Matters.nl een openingsfeest (13.30-18.00). U kunt dan nader kennis maken met Ton Kooymans, directeur Material Matters.nl, deelnemen aan discussies en workshops, genieten van ons nieuwe inspiratiecentrum en andere gasten ontmoeten onder het genot van een hapje en drankje.

Material Matters.nl is een nieuwe onafhankelijke kennisinstelling op het gebied van maatschappelijk verantwoorde materiaal- en productontwikkeling. Material Matters.nl biedt kennis en inspiratie, een collectie aan materialen en producten, een designbibliotheek, organiseert workshops en lezingen.

Material Matters.nl zal zich de komende jaren verder ontwikkelen als een belangrijke schakel binnen het domein materialen daar waar het gaat om de combinatie van materialen, intelligentie, creativiteit en technologie.
